Sausage Mozzarella Meatballs

Yields: 12 (2 large meatballs per serving)

  • 1 lb. Ground Beef
  • 1 lb. Farmington Ground Premium Pork Sausages
  • 1 cup Marcum Plain Bread Crumbs
  • 1/2 cup Coburn Farms Milk
  • 2 Tbsp Marcum Onion Minced
  • 2 Tbsp Marcum Parsley Flake
  • 2 tsp Marcum Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Marcum Ground Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Marcum Salt
  • 2 Good Nature Eggs, beaten
  • 12 oz. Farmington Bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper, 1/2-inch dice (about 1 cup)
  • 12 oz. Coburn Farms Mozzarella Chunk Cheese, cut into 24  1/2-inch cubes
  • 1 Tbsp Medeiros Vegetable Oil
  1. Preheat oven to 350 ° Foil and grease a large baking sheet pan.
  2. Combine bread crumbs, milk, minced onion, parsley, garlic powder, salt, pepper and eggs. Allow mixture to sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Gently mix the bacon, pork sausage, ground beef and bell pepper into mixture; careful not to overwork meat.
  4. Form into 24 equal sized balls. Press one mozzarella cube into center of each ball; re-roll it.
  5. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Brown all sides of each meatball (1 minute per side) then remove to sheet pan.
  6. Finish baking meatballs in oven for 15-20 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165 °
  7. Serve as an appetizer with marinara for dipping or as an entrée with marinara and pasta
