Cowboy Burger

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 8-12 minutes
Total Time: 28-32 minutes
Yields: 4

  • 8 slices Farmington Bacon, cooked
  • 1  1/2 lb. (80/20) ground beef
  • Marcum Gourmet Sizzling Burger Seasoning Rub, as needed
  • 4 slices Coburn Farms Pepper Jack Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Fairhill Farms French Fried Onions
  • Kurtz BBQ Sauce, as desired
  • Senora Verde Sliced Jalapenos, optional
  • 4 Grissom’s Hamburger Buns
  1. Cook bacon ahead of time and keep warm.
  2. Divide ground beef into 4 (6-oz.) burger patties, about 4-5 inches wide. Press an indentation into center of patty to help maintain its shape during cooking.
  3. Season patties on both sides with a few pinches of Sizzling Burger seasoning rub.
  4. Preheat skillet or grill to high heat (400-500°F). Grease pan or grates.
  5. Cook hamburgers 4-6 minutes per side or to desired doneness. The recommended internal cooking temperature for ground beef is 160°F which is a “well done” burger.
  6. Remove burgers from direct heat and melt cheese slices.
  7. Assemble burger patties on buns and top each with 2 slices of bacon, about 2 tablespoons of French fried onions, jalapeno slices (optional), and BBQ sauce. Enjoy!
