Overnight Gingerbread Oatmeal

Cook Time 3-4 hours
Ingredients
2 cups steel cut oats
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons ginger
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon allspice
8 cups water
1/2 cup maple syrup (or substitute with molasses)
Optional toppings: whipped cream, walnuts, dried cranberries, raisins, sprinkles

Notes

If oatmeal gets too sticky, try adding a little milk to it!

Directions

  1. Spray the inside of your crockpot with cooking spray.
  2. Combine all ingredients into slow cooker and stir well.
  3. Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 8 hours, stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve with maple syrup and optional toppings.
