The holidays are all about giving, and to recognize and celebrate the generosity of our own customers, Save A Lot took holiday giving a step further and kicked off the season on Giving Tuesday with a 12-day long giveaway: 12 Days of Giving.
Every day for 12 days, we surprised a randomly selected customer in a St. Louis area store who chose to participate in Save A Lot’s “Bags for a Brighter Holiday” program, awarding them with a special prize valued between $400 – $1,600. Prizes included a $1,500 kitchen cookware upgrade, a 2-Night St. Louis Staycation and even a thrilling 5-minute Save A Lot shopping spree.
The program was our way of saying “thank you” to the numerous customers purchasing bags and donating to the local community through Bags for a Brighter Holiday.
The giving spirit of these selfless customers was captured by winner Julia Russell, a local St. Louis minister and daycare provider who won the 5-minute Save A Lot shopping spree. Dedicated to giving back to her community, Julia is a member of All Faith Church, where they support the community with summer cookouts and events as well as donations of toiletries to anyone who needs some extra help. Winning the shopping spree gave her time to focus on new business ventures without having to worry about buying food and other necessities for a while—bringing holiday giving in the community full circle.
