SAVE A LOT® 2026-1 HOMETOWN HEROES CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. AN INTERNET CONNECTION IS REQUIRED FOR ENTRY

1.     Description and Dates: The Save A Lot 2026-1 Hometown Heroes Contest (the “Contest”) provides entrants the opportunity to recognize individuals in their community by writing a description of how the individual is a Hometown Hero and nominating those individuals to win a prize as described below.  Sponsor will select the Contest winners in accordance with the procedures set forth below. By participating in the Contest, each Nominator and their Nominee must unconditionally accept and agree to comply with and abide by these Official Rules (“Official Rules”) and the decisions of Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects. By submitting a nomination, each Nominator and Nominee agree to the Official Rules available at https://savealot.com/wcp/terms-hometown-hero-rules and warrants that their nomination complies with all requirements set out in these Official Rules. This is a skill based contest and chance plays no part in the determination of winners.  Contest is valid from January 6, 2026, 12:00 AM ET, through April 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET (“Contest Period”).  Sponsor’s computer will be the official time-keeping device for the Contest.  Proof of submitting a nomination via email is not considered proof of delivery to or receipt by Sponsor of such nomination within the Contest Period.

2.     How To Enter: There is one (1) way to enter:

Nomination – A Nominee must be nominated by a person other than the Nominee (“Nominator”). A Nominator must obtain consent from the Nominee to provide their personal information to participate in the Contest prior to nominating a Nominee. Nominator affirms that it collected the Nominee’s personal information in a lawful manner and that nothing prohibits the Nominator from disclosing Nominee’s personal information. All personal information collected in connection with the Contest will be used by Sponsor in accordance with its privacy policy, located at https://savealot.com/c/privacy-policy. Nominators may submit a nomination by visiting https://savealot.com/wcp/hometown-hero and completing the nomination webform, including a written statement (“Materials”) describing the Nominee. Materials provided to Sponsor in the submission form other than personal information will be treated as non-confidential and nonproprietary. Nominations must be submitted during the period of January 6, 2026, to January 30, 2026 (“Nomination Period”).

Acceptance of Nomination – Selected Nominees must accept his or her Nomination and execute an Affidavit of Eligibility Liability/Publicity Release and License to participate as a Finalist, as defined in Section 5 below. Sponsor will contact Nominees by email on or about the end of the Nomination Period and confirm that (1) Nominee accepts his or her Nomination, and (2) Nomination meets the minimum requirements to participate in the Contest, which will be determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion. If a Nominee does not respond, does not accept Nomination, or does not meet eligibility requirements and the Nomination Criteria (defined below), Nominee will be excluded from the Contest.  A Nominee that has not been confirmed is ineligible to proceed as a Finalists.  Once a Nominee is confirmed it will be considered one (1) entry into the Contest. Nominee may be asked to provide a photo and consent to Sponsor building a social media profile for public voting on their Nomination.

Sponsor is not responsible for, and shall not be liable for late, lost, misdirected, unsuccessful, or illegible Nominations for any reason.  Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to reject any entry for failure to comply with these Official Rules.

3.     Eligibility: This Contest is open to legal residents of the states set forth on Exhibit A who are 18 years of age and have reached the age of majority in his or her state) and older and have a valid U.S. address at the time of entry. Both the Nominator and the Nominee must be eligible for this Contest. Any Nominator or Nominee found to be under the age of majority in their state of residence shall be disqualified. Employees, directors, officers and their immediate families (spouse, parents, children, siblings, and each of their spouses regardless where they live) or members of households of Moran Foods, LLC, d.b.a. Save-A-Lot and each of its respective parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries agencies and licensees and anyone connected with the production and distribution of this Contest (collectively the “Contest Entities”), are not eligible to be a Nominator or a Nominee in this Contest and shall not enter or be awarded a prize. This Contest is void where prohibited.

4.     Sponsor: Moran Foods, LLC (“Sponsor”), 400 Northwest Plaza Drive, Saint Ann, MO 63074.

5.   Winner Selection: Potential winners will be chosen through a combination of Sponsor’s judging based on the Nomination Criteria and public voting. In the initial round of judging, a panel of Sponsor employees will review each accepted and confirmed Nomination and select 12 Nominees from among all eligible entries received based on the Nomination’s adherence to certain judging criteria, including the response to the following field in the entry form, “Please tell us why nominee deserves to be named a Save A Lot Hometown Hero. Submissions will be evaluated based on nominee’s impact, innovation and demonstrated passion.” Nominations will be evaluated based on Nominator’s description of the Nominee’s i) commitment to community service, ii) inspirational power, iii) overall impact, and iv) any other qualities or traits described by Nominator that Sponsor deems in its sole discretion exemplify what it means to be a “Hometown Hero”. Sponsor evaluates 1. Impact: How impactful is the work the nominee does? 2.  Innovation: How innovative/unique is the work the Nominee does to serve others? 3. Passion: What is the Nominee’s described level of passion for serving others? And 4. Sponsor Overall Impression: Does the Nominee have other qualities or traits exemplify what it means to be a “Hometown Hero” (collectively, the “Nomination Criteria”).

 Each Nominee selected by Sponsor during the initial round of judging will become a “Finalist,” and the Finalists selected will be determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Decisions of Sponsor are final, and Sponsor reserves the right to reject Nominations or terminate the Contest and select no Finalists if, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, Nominations submitted do not follow these Official Rules or are not suitable for the intended purpose.

In the second round of judging, Sponsor will open voting on the selected Finalists to the public.  The general public may cast a vote on Save A Lot’s Facebook page (@savealot) for the Finalist of their choice. This Contest is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook or Meta Platforms, Inc. In order to win a prize Finalists must agree to fully release and hold Meta harmless from liability in connection with this Contest. Up to nine (9) Finalists with the most votes at the end of the Voting Period may be deemed the Winner(s) by Sponsor.  Votes in the second round of judging are limited to one (1) per person per day during the Voting Period. In the event of a tie, Sponsor will choose a Winner at its sole discretion based on the Nomination Criteria. Decisions of Sponsor are final. Display or publication of any Nomination on a Sponsor website or social media account does not indicate the Nominee will be selected as a potential Winner.

Sponsor will select Finalists, open voting to the public, and determine the Winner(s) on or about the dates below.  Voting will be open from 12:00 AM ET on the date the Voting Period opens through 11:59 PM ET on the date the Voting Period ends.

6. Prizes: Up to six (6) Winners will each receive a $500 Save A Lot® gift card (the “Prize”). Gift cards, alcohol, tobacco products and lottery tickets (“Excluded Items”) cannot be purchased with the Prize. Approximate retail value (“ARV”) of all Prizes awarded in the Contest shall not exceed $4,500.00.  Limit one (1) Prize per Winner. You may win this Contest only once.  A Nominator does not receive a Prize if their Nominee is selected as a Winner. Only a qualified, eligible Nominee may win a Prize in this Contest. All charges, fees and costs not specifically included in the Prize description above, including but not limited to taxes, gratuities, and or other related fees, are the sole responsibility of each respective Winner, regardless of whether the Prize, in whole or in part, is used.  The reporting and payment of all tax liability incurred by any Winner as a result of the Contest, including but not limited to federal, state, and local income taxes, is the sole responsibility of each Winner.  Each Winner is further responsible to maintain records and establish that any amounts received can be excluded from income.  The Winner may be required to complete certain tax documents for the value of the Prize and return them to Sponsor.

Nominees selected as potential winners will be notified via the telephone or e-mail address included in the Nomination on or about the dates in the “Winner Selected” column of the table above and will have approximately seventy-two (72) hours to claim their Prize.  In the event that the Nominees cannot be reached by e-mail, do not claim their Prize within said seventy-two (72) hour period, the Prize is undeliverable, or Nominee are otherwise disqualified subject to these Official Rules, the Prize may be forfeited, and, at the Sponsor’s sole discretion, an alternate Nominee may be selected as a potential Winner, based on judging results, time permitting.  Sponsor is not responsible for, and shall not be liable for, lost, misdirected, or unsuccessful efforts to notify the potential Winner(s), for any change of the potential Winner’s contact information, or for any issues with the Nominee’s e-mail account or contact information provided by Nominator.  Upon Prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given to the Nominee.  Winning the Prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth in these Official Rules. 

EACH POTENTIAL WINNER IS ALSO SUBJECT TO ELIGIBILITY VERIFICATION, INCLUDING VERIFICATION OF AGE AND RESIDENCY, BY SPONSOR WHOSE DECISION IS FINAL AND BINDING IN ALL MATTERS RELATED TO THIS CONTEST.  A PARTICIPANT IS NOT A WINNER OF THE PRIZE, EVEN IF THE CONTEST SO INDICATES, UNLESS AND UNTIL THE PARTICIPANT’S ELIGIBILITY HAS BEEN VERIFIED.  SPONSOR WILL REQUIRE AN AFFIDAVIT OF ELIGILITY LIABILITY/PUBLICITY RELEASE AND LICENSE FROM EACH NOMINEE SELECTED AS A POTENTIAL WINNNER. SPONSOR WILL NOT ACCEPT EVIDENCE OF A POTENTIAL WINNER IN LIEU OF ITS VALIDATION PROCESS.  SPONSOR HAS THE RIGHT, IN ITS SOLE DISCRETION, TO DISQUALIFY ANY POTENTIAL WINNER AND/OR REMOVE FROM ALL SPONSOR MATERIALS ANY INDICIA OF A POTENTIAL WINNER WHO COMMITTED AN ACT OR HAS DONE ANYTHING WHICH MIGHT BE REASONABLY CONSIDERED (A) TO BE IMMORAL, SCANDALOUS, OR OBSCENE; OR (B) TO TARNISH, DAMAGE, OR OTHERWISE NEGATIVELY AFFECT OR IMPACT THE REPUTATION OR GOODWILL ASSOCIATED WITH SPONSOR OR ITS BRANDS. IF A WINNER ENGAGES IN BEHAVIOR THAT, AS DETERMINED BY SPONSOR IN ITS SOLE DISCRETION, IS OBNOXIOUS OR THREATENING, ILLEGAL OR THAT IS INTENDED TO ANNOY, ABUSE, THREATEN OR HARASS ANY OTHER PERSON, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO TERMINATE WINNER’S PRIZE.

Prizes are awarded AS IS and WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, expressed or implied, including, without limitation, implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.  Prizes consist solely of a Save A Lot® gift card, may not be transferred or redeemed for cash and are subject to all terms and conditions of use as established by issuer.  No substitutions are allowed except at the sole discretion of the Sponsor.  Upon presentation or delivery to Winners, the Prizes become the sole property and responsibility of the recipients and will not be replaced by the Sponsor if lost or stolen.  The Winners may waive their right to receive the Prize.  All Prizes will be awarded without regard to race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, age, or national origin. Non-winning nominations will not be notified.

7.     Nomination Rules: A Nominator may submit a nomination for a Nominee only once per Nomination Period. A Nominator may submit multiple nominations for multiple Nominees in the same Nomination Period provided the Nominator and the Nominees comply with these Official Rules. Normal Internet access and usage charges imposed by Nominator and/or Nominee’s online service will apply. Any sort of automated Nomination sent via bot is strictly prohibited. Any Nominee or Nominator suspected or found to be submitting automated Nominations of any kind will be disqualified. Any Materials submitted become the sole and exclusive property of Sponsor and cannot be returned.

8.     Release / Grant of Rights:  By submitting Materials, Nominator and Nominee acknowledge and agree that:

·       Sponsor is granted a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, exclusive, sublicensable, assignable, unrestricted, worldwide license to use the Materials, together with all consents or waivers necessary to use (or refrain from using), reproduce, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display, transmit, communicate to the public, modify and make derivative works of the Materials, by any means and in all media formats and channels now known or hereafter devised in perpetuity, and to advertise and promote such use, in Sponsor’s sole discretion and without further notice to, or permission from, Nominator, Nominee, or any other person unless prohibited by law, and without compensation or reference to Nominator, Nominee or any other person;

·      Nominator and Nominee have obtained the consent of every identifiable individual, featured in the Materials or profile information provided to Sponsor to use that person’s name, voice, and/or likeness (as applicable) in connection with the Contest and pursuant to these Official Rules;

·       It is a prerequisite for Nominator and Nominee to agree that the Materials may be used for any lawful purpose, including in Sponsor’s marketing and/or promotional materials;

·       Nominator and Nominee shall not claim, argue, or assert any “moral rights” related to the Materials and/or the Nomination against any Sponsor actions or behavior based on this Section 8 of these Official Rules;

·       Neither Nominator nor Nominee will have right of approval, claim to any compensation, and/or claim arising out of the use, alteration, distortion, or illusionary effect or use in any composite form of the Materials or Nomination;

·       The submission of the Nomination is gratuitous, made without restriction, and will not place the Sponsor under any obligation;

·       Sponsor is free to disclose the ideas contained in the Materials and Nomination on a non-confidential basis to anyone or otherwise use the ideas without any additional compensation to Nominator or Nominee;

·       By acceptance of the Nomination, Sponsor does not waive any rights to use similar or related ideas previously known to Sponsor, or developed by its employees, or obtained from the sources other than Nominator or Nominee;

·       The Sponsor may use (or refrain from using in its sole discretion) or modify including by use of artificial intelligence, Nominator’s and Nominee’s names, pictures or likenesses, videos, or other digital representation thereof, biographical information, or statements, whether now in existence or created in the future for any and all advertising and promotional purposes in any and all media now known or hereafter invented (including but not limited to digital, social and print media) without territorial or time limitations and without further consideration, at the sole discretion of the Sponsor, unless prohibited by law and Sponsor will not be required to pay any consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such use;  and

·       Nominator and Nominee will have no right of approval, no claim to any compensation, and no claim arising out of the use, alteration, distortion, or illusionary effect or use in any composite form of their names, pictures, videos, or any other digital representations thereof, biographical information, or statements.

9.     Content Restrictions:  Nominator and Nominee acknowledge and agree that:

·       Materials are the Nominator’s original, previously unpublished content and do not infringe, violate, or misappropriate any third-party intellectual property rights, including without limitation, copyrights, trade secrets, and trademarks;

·       Materials do not violate any applicable laws or regulations or infringe or violate any rights of a third party, including third-party publicity or privacy rights;

·       Materials must not contain any brand names, trademarks, or copyrights other than those owned by Sponsor or its affiliates;

·       Materials must not include any watermarks or credits;

·       Materials must not disparage Sponsor or any other person or party affiliated with the Contest;

·       Materials must not contain content that is, in the Sponsor’s sole discretion, deemed to be inappropriate, indecent, offensive, obscene, sexually explicit, violent, hateful, threatening, profane, harassing, tortious, defamatory, slanderous, and/or libelous;

·       Materials must not contain content that is, in the Sponsor’s sole discretion, deemed to promote bigotry, racism, hatred, or harm against any group or individual, or to promote discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, and/or age;

·       Materials must not contain images of humans and/or animals that are, in the Sponsor’s sole discretion, deemed to be unfit or unhealthy;

·       Materials must not contain images of humans and/or animals that are, in the Sponsor’s sole discretion, deemed to depict unsafe or unhealthy environmental conditions or unsavory behavior;

·       Materials must not contain the image, likeness, and/or any other identifying information of a minor unless the Nominator has obtained the permission of the legal guardian of said minor and, if Nomination is selected as a winner, will confirm such permission in writing upon request;

·       Materials must not include private or restricted materials or locations without having first obtained the consent of the owner or same, and the Nominator must be able to provide all appropriate clearances, permissions, and releases upon request; and

·       Materials must not have been previously published, submitted in a promotion of any kind, or have won any other award.

ALL NOMINATIONS (EVEN NOMINATIONS USED BY SPONSOR PURSUANT TO THE LICENSE UNDER THESE OFFICIAL RULES) ARE THE VIEWS AND OPINIONS OF THE INDIVIDUAL NOMINATOR AND DO NOT REFLECT THE VIEWS OF THE SPONSOR IN ANY MANNER. 

10.  General: Sponsor reserves the right to cancel/terminate, modify or suspend the Contest if in Sponsor’ sole determination it believes that the integrity of the Contest has been, or could be, compromised or that the Contest is not capable of running as planned or fairly, including, but not limited to, fraud or force majeure or any other causes beyond Sponsor’ control. Sponsor is not responsible for unauthorized human intervention in any part of the Contest.  Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with the mechanics or logistics of this Contest will be declared ineligible, and Sponsor reserves the right to prosecute and to seek damages from said individual to the full extent of the law. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for incomplete, incorrect, or inaccurate entry information, human error or technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any computer equipment or software, or any combination thereof, or for lost, stolen, late or misdirected entries. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of email due to technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or combination thereof, including injury or damage to entrants or to any other person’s computer related to, or resulting from, participating in or downloading of materials in this contest. If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including, without limitation, infection by computer virus, bugs, worms, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, acts of war, natural disasters, weather, acts of terrorism, epidemic, pandemic, or any other acts, events, or causes beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor that may corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest, or any portion thereof.  In the event of early termination or cancellation of the Contest, Sponsor may award recognition to a Winner based on the above judging Nomination Criteria from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to termination or cancellation

11.  Limitation of Liability:  By entering this Contest, a participant, including Nominator and Nominee, explicitly releases, discharges and holds harmless the Contest Entities, their successors, estates and assigns and all their respective shareholders, directors, officers and employees, one and all, from any and all liability, actions, causes of action, damages, actual, incidental or consequential, claims and demands whatsoever in law or equity, including all “costs”, which he/she now has or may acquire, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, including without limitation, to claims arising out of personal injury, death, loss of or damage to property, or any reason, occurring during or arising out of his/her participation in the Contest and the acceptance, possession, and use or misuse of a Prize, claims based on intellectual property rights, publicity rights, privacy rights, or defamation, or claims based on the negligence of Sponsor. By accepting a Prize, each Winner waives the right to 1) assert as a cost of winning the Prize any and all costs of verification and redemption or travel to redeem said Prize, and 2) claim any liability (including attorney’s fees and costs) which might arise from redeeming or seeking to redeem said Prize (including any travel related thereto). ALL PRIZES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.  REMEDIES SHALL BE SUBJECT TO ALL LIMITATIONS AND RELEASES IN THESE RULES, BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL OUT OF POCKET DAMAGES, AND SHALL NOT, IN ANY EVENT, INCLUDE ANY PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, ATTORNEY’S FEES OR OTHER COSTS OF BRINGING A CLAIM, OR ANY INJUNCTIVE OR OTHER EQUITABLE RELIEF.  SOME JURISDICTIONS MAY NOT ALLOW EXCLUSIONS OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. SPONSOR DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THIS CONTEST IS VALID IN ANY PARTICULAR JURISDICTION.

12.  Severability: This Contest is void where prohibited. If any provision of this Contest shall be deemed to violate any federal, state, or municipal law, it shall be amended to conform to such law and all other provisions shall remain in full force and effect. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.  Any waiver of any obligation hereunder by Sponsor does not constitute a general waiver of any obligation to participants. 

13.  Governing Law and Jurisdiction: This Contest and these Official Rules shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri without regard to its principles of conflicts of law. Jurisdiction and venue shall be solely within Saint Louis County, Missouri.  As a condition of participating in this Contest, entrants agree that any and all disputes and causes of action against Sponsor arising out of or in connection with this Contest shall be resolved individually (without resort to any form of class action). Any such dispute may be resolved by mediation or arbitration.

14.  Privacy and Use of Contest Information: All information submitted by Nominator and Nominee is subject to Sponsor’s Privacy Policy at https://savealot.com/c/privacy-policy.  If you are under the age of thirteen (13), you are not eligible for this Contest do not provide Sponsor with any personal information about yourself, including your first or last name, address, phone number, email address or similar information.  Sponsor does not seek to collect, and will not knowingly accept, personal information from persons under the age of thirteen (13) years.  Participation in this Contest is not conditioned upon the provision of any personal information to Sponsor by any person under the age of thirteen (13) years.

15.  Winner Name(s): The names of the Winners will be posted on or about the dates noted in the “Winner Selected” column of the table in Section 5, at https://savealot.com/terms/hometown as well as in Sponsor’s social media posts and other promotional materials. To request the list of Winners, send an e-mail with subject line: “Hometown Heroes Contest 2026-1″ to media.inquiries@savealot.com. The list will be sent once the Contest has been conducted and Winners have been verified.
