Stuffed Onions

  • 1lb Ground Beef
  • 4-6 large onions Yellow Onions
  • 1 cup Coburn Farms Shredded Cheddar
  • 3/4 cup Simple Earth White Rice, cooked
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 tbs Kurtz Worcestershire
  • 1 tbs Kurtz Ketchup
  • 1 tsp Marcum Paprika
  • 1 tsp Marcum Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Marcum Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp Marcum Black Pepper
  • 1/2 cup Diced Onion
  • For sauce:
  • 1 cup Marcum Beef Broth
  • 1/2 cup Mantia's Marinara
  • 1tbs Kurtz Ketchup
  1. Prepare the onions: Peel and trim the ends. Cut a slit down one side of the onion. Place a pot on the stove top and allow to boil.
  2. Boil the onions for 10-12 minutes until softened. Allow to cool then separate layers into "shells".
  3. Filling: In a bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, cheese, chopped onion, garlic, Worcestershire, ketchup and seasonings.
  4. Fill each onion shell with 1-2 tablespoons of filling, then wrap the ends.
  5. Arrange stuffed onions in a deep skillet or pot.
  6. Mix sauce ingredients and pour over onions.
  7. Cover and simmer on low for 35–45 minutes until cooked through.
  • Garnish with Parsley or Green Onions
  • Serve with Mashed potatoes, green beans or dinner rolls
