That feeling of family is what’s kept Save A Lot Store Manager Pamela Waters leading several Detroit stores for over a decade. “When I think about my career at Save A Lot, for me it comes down to how I’m treated. The Rabban Brothers treat me like family,” she said. “Jimmy and the rest of the family have looked out for me since I first started working for them more than 20 years ago. That means everything to me.”

For Pamela being a part of the Save A Lot family means showing loyalty, love and respect. She says receiving it from local store ownership, means it’s easy to pass down to her team at Detroit’s Houston-Whittier location. She does that by regularly communicating with them her high standards of having a full, fresh, friendly and clean store for customers. “My team knows we win customers and business together,” she said. “It comes down to staying positive and really working together that allows us to continue to deliver a great shopping experience for our customers in this community.” It’s that positive attitude and team approach that helps Pamela keep her staff engaged, but motivated as well to do their very best. “I’ve seen a lot of changes in this neighborhood since I started,” she said. “But I’m happy to say this store is still proudly serving the community and the people who live here. Most of my staff lives close so it means the world to me knowing I’m doing what I can to help them grow and thrive. I consider my team here family and only want what’s best for them and this community.”
