As an additional celebration, the team will acknowledge its official 30th anniversary with a “Road Show” meat and seafood event on April 18, featuring hot offers like $9.99 USDA angus boneless ribeye steaks or USDA select t-bone steaks; $14.99/lb Venezuelan fresh lump crabmeat; or a pint of fresh Chesapeake Bay oysters for just $9.99.
“Reaching 30 years is a testament to the communities we serve and the team we’ve built. We owe much of our success to the dedicated employees who have made serving our customers with pride a daily priority,” said Melvin Shapiro. David Green shared, “From day one, we’ve stayed focused on delivering value and quality, and this anniversary is our way of saying thank you to the customers who have supported us along the way and celebrating with our teams.”
Both third-generation grocers, Shapiro and Green introduced the Save A Lot model to the region, opening stores in underserved rural and suburban markets beginning in 1996. Throughout their 30 years in business, they’ve built a strong regional presence by focusing on value and meeting local needs by offering a strong assortment of meats and seafood, creating deep community engagement, and continuing to evolve the business through investments in e-commerce and prepared foods.
