Learn how to host the ultimate cookie exchange and impress your guests.

See how to ho-ho-host the BEST one.

1. Set the Date

  • Get your guestlist together.

  • Set a date & time. (We recommend at least 7 days before Christmas)

  • Send invites 2-3 weeks before the event.

2. Set the Rules

  • Cookie type: Each guest should bring a different cookie.

  • Cookie amount: Each guest should bring enough cookies to swap with the other guests and to sample.

  • Recipes: Each guest should provide the recipe in advance. The host can email the recipes after the party.

  • Cookie table: You'll want a large table with a mix of cookie platters, cake stands and plates. Display the recipes next to each cookie for guests with allergies.

  • Tasting cookies: Have the guests line up and walk around the table one-by-one to start fill their boxes.

3. Give Prizes

  • Who doesn't like an award? Especially when it might poke fun at one of your friends.

  • Give a trophy for the ugliest sweater or most failed recipe. Make sure to get pictures of the lucky recipient with their prize!
